D.E.G.A.

interview

Via rhizome

Errol Morris - Abu Ghraib

THIS article by Errol Morris from last week's New Yorker is really good. There's also an interview with Morris on the New Yorker website which I haven't watched yet.

Gospel House

Umm yeah so this song is awesome. It's like James Brown house with gospel vocal stabs. So good.
Romanthony — "Bring U Up"

is this it??

Colin, I just saw THIS on OMG but I can't listen to it because I'm at work and my computer at home died last night and so i'm never going to listen to anything ever again. Is it the song? I've been singing it all morning. work it to the bone bone bone.

Another thing

www.audionews.ru
You can register today for free. It's got VSTs and production shit. Might be good, I'm not totally sure.

My Muxtape

I don't know how to add to the links at the side. This website is kinda fun.

Permanent Vacation - Cory Arcangel

This piece is hilarious. Two computers send automated 'Out of Office Reply' messages back and forth for ever and ever and ever. It's not that new but it's been getting a lot of coverage over the last week (since it appeared on VVORK I guess). Some of my favourite responses are by IT guys who are up in arms that Arcangel's made a work with something they have to deal with everyday like: "Wow, I guess I make art all the time!"

Here's the round up:
VVORK
BOINGBOING
RHIZOME

LINKS

I made a links column to the right there. I'm not sure why some of them don't come up white but they all work. I'll keep adding some, add your own. You should all be "Admins" so do what you want to the layout and colours.

VVORK is my favourite.

Music Blogs

Here are some blogs I think are awesome. They all have awesome and weird musics. The first two I know of well and the second two I haven't had much time to explore:

Atelier Van Lieshout

Matt, these are the guys I was talking about Saturday: http://www.ateliervanlieshout.com

I'm really into the "Wellness Skull" but all the Slave City stuff is also amazing. The earlier commune works and architectural additions are also really great.

Joep Van Lieshout designed amazing chairs for Moooi, based on Shaker furniture design. I like the idea of a failed commune appropriating the (very popular and now quite lucrative) aesthetic of a vanished ascetic religious community for interior design. It's kind of sad and happy at the same time.
